Valentines Theme Thank You Cake

I had a cake order, but I felt more like making cookies that day, so I just used cookies to decorate my cake.

First make the cookies.

These swirled hearts were fun to make and pretty simple

Then onto the cakes they go!  Two sour cream almond cakes frosted with vanilla buttercream. 

Unusual Mix of Cookies

This was a pretty odd order, but I aim to please.  Two dozen cookies:  ladybugs, 4-leaf clovers, and peace symbols. 

I didn't have a cookie cutter for any of these shapes, so I made 4 inch rounds and hand piped the designs on top.  More labor intensive, but I enjoyed the challenge.

Hunter's Wedding

This cake was actually for my cousin Debra's wedding.  She and her husband are both avid hunters and were getting married on the opening day of white wing season.  After the wedding reception, the wedding party went hunting.

Quinceanera Cakes

This is a pair of large cakes that I did for a Quinceanera for a set of twins, one boy and one girl.  Mother used to have their room decorated with Raggedy Ann and Andy when they were babies, so she requested that theme for the cake.

These were 8-10-12-14 assorted flavors in fillings inside

Boys Cake - picked a blue background with blue stitches and brown buttons to match the denim overalls that Andy wears.

Piped Buttercream Floral Sprays

1/4 sheet with buttercream sprays.  These are my favorite drop flowers.

Same floral sprays arranged on a larger half sheet cake.

One more time, but this time on a full sheet cake.

Different tip, didn't like this one, it didn't look enough like a flower.
